About
On rue du Collet in Vieux Nice, Lou Pilha Leva has been serving Niçois street food from a stand-up counter since the 1970s. Its name means "take it and go" in the Niçois dialect, and the menu sticks to a handful of local specialties: socca (a thin chickpea-flour pancake cooked on a copper griddle), pissaladière (caramelized onion tart), petits farcis (stuffed vegetables) and tourte de blettes (a Swiss chard pie). There's no table service; customers queue, order at the counter and eat standing at shared wooden tables on the street or crammed inside.
