About
Cantina Do Mori has operated as a wine bar a few steps from the Rialto Market since at least 1462, making it one of Venice's oldest continuously run drinking spots. Its name -- 'of the Moors' -- is thought to nod at old trade with the Levant, and regulars over the centuries are said to have included Casanova. The narrow, standing-room bar still hangs copper pots from the ceiling and pours ombre (small glasses of wine) alongside cicchetti such as its francobolli, small square tramezzini-style sandwiches, from a wooden counter.
